All of us involved in Alpine Fencing, past and present, believe in building a legacy rather than simply leaving an estate.  We've partnered with organizations that reach out to our youth. 

We walk out what we say we believe in and in partnering with Alpine Fencing you, our valued customer, are helping to build our youth into the leaders of the next generation.  We don't want to just build fences - we want to build relationships!

We have actively supported youth recreational sports teams throughout the year in our community.  (http://ccrec.tripod.com/id8.html)

We also go out into the mission field, either directly to build, or support those who feel moved to reach out to others.

Short-term outreach to Baja, January 2007   -   Matthew & Jens. 

Divine appointment, Baja, January 2008:  The woman in the center, age 28, had been sold into slavery by her father when she was 13.  After gaining her freedom, she'd had a house built for her (left) in 2006.  She lives in a rowdy 'hood and they'd been praying for a fence for over a year.  After completing our house project in another "neighborhood", we had some time and donations left over so we surprised her with an answer to that prayer.  Visiting her kids that day were two girls from LAST years house build - we visited them after completing the fence and found their family still together and full of a spirit of joy.

Who We Are

Alpine Fencing was established in 1999 by Shawn Fitzgerald.  A couple years later, Jens McLaughlin flew into Colorado, with a backpack, on a round-trip ticket.  Jens never used that return option!

Shawn and Jens met Matthew von Hobe in 2005 on a short-term mission outreach.  Besides having a heart for children, they all had a passion for building God's Kingdom.

All of them have been on mission outreaches, they always come back on fire, and they always knew they didn't have to leave the community in order to be in the mission field.  They prayed earnestly for God to show them their part for His plan in Fremont County.

On the return from his second outreach to post-Katrina New Orleans, God gave Shawn a vision for the outreach He wanted us to build in Fremont County.

In order to begin to focus on making this outreach a reality, Shawn knew he needed to part ways with Alpine Fencing.  At the same time, God put it on Matthew's heart to become the next steward of Alpine Fencing, with Jens as the Operations Manager.

The transition took place at the end of September 2006 with Matthew restructuring the company and keeping the books, and Jens and one employee in the field.  Now well into our 3rd year as an LLC, and our 10th year in business, the trust we've earned has carried us well into this challenging fiscal season.

Nevertheless, Fremont County continues to grow and, in order to meet the home improvement needs of that growth, so are we.
